Review

Of the "new-band" albums which we've had lately this is without a doubt the superior one. There is just a level of freedom to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs freakiness that is really inspiring and fun to listen to.

This is not to say that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs don't remind me of tons of other things, Throwing Muses being one of the comparisons that immediately spring to mind. At least they were smart enough not to derive from absolutely mainstream bands... and to make enough modifications to be recognisably themselves.

So a pretty great album full of noises, lust and that just feels like music that was enjoyable to make on more than one level, it feels like it was done with some passion for music. So good on them and an album which I can highly recommend.
